The ever-popular Mountain
Goat Radio Show kicked
off 2005 on January 9, when it hosted another great afternoon’s entertainment
at Bluewater in Monteagle. The familiar cast of characters was on hand
as well as the musical talents of the Bend in the River Band, a family-based
bluegrass band from New Hope, Tennessee. The 2005 premiere spotlighted local author, Weldon Payne, back by popular demand, and the South Cumberland Players including Jerry Mansfield, Mark Edens, David Burnett, Dan Sargent, Jan Harlow, Susan Peek, Bill Priestly, and Ken Williams. This season’s Mountain Goat has received a Tennessee Arts Commis |

The Tennessee Arts
Commission has awarded SCCS a $1500
Arts Build Communities (ABC) grant which will be used to pay the music groups
for the Mountain Goat Radio
Show. Funding for TAC grants comes
from appropriations made by the TN General Assembly, from the National
Endowment for the Arts, and from the purchase of Support of the Arts specialty license
plates in Tennessee. We again thank our state
and local elected officials for their continued support of the arts in
Tennessee. |
